Serving the freight forwarding industry since
1949, it is with great pride that I look back at our history and with immense conviction that I look towards our future.
COMEXAS group started its operations in
1949 within the Bunge Group. The company was then operating as Freight Forwarder in Antwerp under the name COMEXAS.
In
1953, the company took the decision of expanding its network and setting up ‘COMEXAS Afrique’ in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This expansion represents a turning point in the history of the group with the first layer foundation of its vision and its commitment to Africa. In the same year, the company consolidated its position in Belgium with the start up of its Airfreight division in Brucargo (Brussels).
The second major date in the history of our group was the management buy-out that took place on the 1st of January
1992. Since then, my family and close collaborators have been watching over COMEXAS’ growth. You will recognize our family values in most of our actions; from the management to our daily operations and service levels, our values have become the essence of our commitment.
In
2013 the group continued its expansion plans with the take over of a Freight Forwarding company in Ghana and the subsequent start up of ‘COMEXAS Ghana’.
In
2015, COMEXAS opened its office in South Africa. This office operates as an African business development head office and focuses on the growing inter-Africa trades.
Today, we further expand in Ghana with the launch of ‘COMEXAS Oil & Gas’ enabling us to serve the oil and gas industry.
Through our continuous commitment to your logistics, we are convinced to be your right choice.
Amaury de Gruben
Chairman, COMEXAS Group
